chew nicotine gum if you want a stupid addiction to have, smoking anything in general is bad for your lungs

There are cigarettes available that don't have tobacco in them but the kind I'm talking about do and as such also contain nicotine.
Honestly, nicotine has been shown to be able to improve concentration--and not just because it satisfies one's addiction. But that it legitimately allow you to focus better. For whatever reason.
There are studies that say it can have remedying properties in regards to alzheimer's, but I'm not sure how many studies have been done that conclude that. It's been called a 'wonder drug' so I wonder how it might be utilized if it weren't so addictive.

Anything but air yeah.
But smoking hasn't explicitly been demonstrated to cause abject damage or death in anyone who does it. You are taking a risk yeah, but if your lungs aren't operating at full capacity it's not necessarily going to ruin the rest of your life.
This is why people who choose to continue smoking can often do so if they want to. And in many cases they end up dying at an average or better age.
Should you smoke if you don't already? No. But the degree of risk associated with smoking is somewhat exaggerated.
I do smoke, and I plan to quit because of the health risk and financial burden, but many people carry on their merry way smoking two and a half pack of unfiltered lucky strikes per day.

Is that so you can concentrate on funeral arrangements, as you are dying from Cancer or Heart Disease.

If nicotine was as "hazardous" as they claimed, then my gramps would not have lived to the age of 94. He started when he was around 15, and smoked all the way up to his death.
79 years of smoking and he outlived most health freaks who do everything by the book for a healthy life.
