You know it sucks. I bet most of your lives are better years on. Mine has only got worse.

I quit my job of nearly 2 years today. That helped with my unhappiness. Gonna drink some beers soon and think about the future. Hope I don't hurt myself.

One must look back and think about what was exciting - Fun - Adventure. OP you said things have gotten worse which means they were better in the past.
Try to get back to where things were better. It is best to hang around others who are on the upside. You need some positive energy.

Life ebs and flows. On social media, you only see the best of people, but that doesn't represent reality. Most people have difficulties.
It'll get better.

Hang in there. It can get better...but you do have to work for it.

A good point. Social media is curated. I actually find that many of my friends share their problems on facebook but regardless it's important to remember social media isn't an accurate full representation of people's lives. You wouldn't know I'm a depressed piece of shit from looking at my Facebook.

Some fortune has come my way but my depression hasn't gotten any better. Sometimes things can be 100% fine and you still feel like necking yourself. Not minimizing your feelings OP, but rather telling you even the more fortunate will have shitty days for no apparent reason. You're definitely not alone in that.

Yeah. My life is much better than it was a year or two ago. Hell, besides the lack of employment from covid my life is awesome these days. But i still have really bad depression and panic days where I wake up and just stay in bed and cry all day. Mental health is very complex.

In keeping with a fragment of a current topic theme.
If your mother had just shallowed, you would have been spared those depression moments.
