Privately owned they do NOT have to follow US Constitution laws on free speech. The only recourse is to sue for slander or libel.
Twitter is free to give the finger to Trump and to even change his text if necessary. They are allowed to put words in his own mouth. If he does not like that he can bugger off and use Rush Limburgers platform, or even create his own private run operation. Then as a US Citizen he still has the right to lie all he wants to.

This whole thing is weird. Reacting to a "fact check" like this is not normal behaviour for any head of state in a Western democracy. Russia, sure. China, yep. Brazil, sure. USA? Nope.

Anyone who pays attention to Trump becomes quickly aware that words from his mouth are really words from a Demigod. He envies dictators and kings. He puts them on a pedistal and is jealous of such powers.
Plus he has a base that reveres, every word he speaks. He actually gains respect from his base, for his lies.
