The simple answer is because like so many Others I have made investments like real estate and only own 3 out of 6 properties as paid off but one of those DOES NOT Count because in theory my daughter ends up inheriting it when I kick the bucket. That house in Cambridge Mass is undergoing costly repairs and the Covid 19 has slowed down the work required to complete.YET Even IF I had no need for cash flow I fully believe I wood continue to work - Currently I am on a long term project for what will one day replace 5G and in theory, replace the replacement - R&D and the experiments that are required take a HUGE number of people and teams and scientists - Engineers - Technicians and in this case many machinists - Lots of Labs with people building breadboards for install in working Verizon and similar sites in Eu and Australia.
This represents about 65% of what I do daily and it is truly FUN AS ALL FUCK - Stuff I did back as Teen in Ham Radio. Jury rigging stuff back then because I had not so much money and was learning from books to trying to make microwave stuff work. Plumbing true Plumbing even in Micro and not so much Micro form - Cavities are more than what one finds in the mouth - Given IC's do not even exist in 2Days technology one has to improvise and a great deal of this work is NOT Digital by any means - RF Transmitters are still ANALOG - Much in Cell Systems are ANALOG controlled by digital of course.
Very few Engineers speak talk work or even understand ANALOG - Try and find Engineers who have Microwave experience LoL - I wood even consider training a plumber as a Electronics Technician EXCEPT right now Plumbers are rare to find and NONE are unemployed.
Sure it is NOT always fun - My neck is suffering from stiffness because I do the install of breadboards at Cell sites (Really only two currently) and fine tuning and I do mean tuning with jewelers screwdrivers on my back on a auto mechanics dolly with neck supported NOW with a pillow - Still it makes my neck STIFF.
Perhaps I can talk Verizon in2 building a Mansion to house the Cell equipment, so I won't have to get down on floor to do the technical work, yet at least the site is Air Conditioned and with Heat on the rise currently that is good. AT&T does it without any Air conditioning.

Hope U all find work where it can be fun or exciting - 4ME sure is nice to work and get paid for it when back in my hobby days I had to pay to play - It's NOT always Play but this project will be play and then test test with huge number of people running the route tests -
AND ONE DAY Soon nuff the new Satellites will start to get old and that means they will need more attention than currently -
Another project is complete on paper and I wait to C how many will laff at me for suggesting they just break a bunch of old rules so solve a problem
