Topic: TCNN EXCLUSIVE: The death of neo-laghouls

+Anonymous A6.1 years ago #55,732

tcnn.pngAlmost three years ago on September, a plan was hatched by minichan mod [REDACTED] to purchase laghouls.com, install minibbs and restore GHOUL's glory - giving the stale BBS scene some fresh air. To help with this, [REDACTED] was sought to join the staff due to his expertise on minibbs, according to unverified tinychan sources, even though he hasn't been seen in either site for close to 6 years.

The site's staff consisted of:
- [REDACTED], Owner & Admin
- [REDACTED], Mod & Developer
- Matthew R. Miller, Mod
- Green, Mod
- Syntax(?), Mod(?)
- Catherine, Janitor

Unfortunately, the site was very short lived. During its short life, it underwent a heavy spamming campaign claimed by Tinychan's own Syntax. Multiple Californian IP addresses kept flooding the board with pictures of the site's staff and families performing homosexual activities, which caused DEFCON to be constantly set to 3, which in turn resulted in making people unable to post easily. This spam went on and on until [REDACTED] decided to pull the plug on the site, just a few months later.

It didn't stop at spam -- according to a private interview with the Admin [REDACTED], a person sent threats to the admin claiming legal action if their pictures aren't taken down, as well as exposing the Admin's private information and stalking his loved ones in case of no compliance with the "friendly request". Of course, the brave Admin decided he doesn't respond to threats. But in the end, this caused nonstop harassement on and on, which ultimately lead to most of the staff resigning, and laghouls' untimely end.

@OP
2 A DEGREE only U were accurate. Take the case of Anon Talk for instance. Kimmo with his stance on so called free speech allowed Child Porn and lots of Lollie porn. So he got dossed like crazy and kept losing web hosts. He had to pay high prices for the new host which quickly got take down notices and then Kimmo lost his money multiple times after paying for a year at a time and only getting just a couple3 months of service.

That fool even picked by shear chance a downtown Los Angeles location that was co-located with stuff Syntax worked on - Server he rented space on was in a cage locked up and was private yet just outside was a ON HANDS Tech who managed a mass of such servers as tech support.

Not about to detail what Syntax may or may not have done but but - He read about something that occurred in San Francisco when the power plug from a server where full price was paid for with even a couple3 years in advance service. Service for co-located servers when co-located in Bell/AT&T QUARTERS come with one hell of a power back up system - In fact no telco equip runs off of Outside AC Power EVER - Everything runs off of DC power for mass of batteries of the old lead acid type - Huge banks of batteries that of course are charging 24/7 from outside AC power - Diesel Generators ready to power up in case AC goes down so not one glitch - AND DC to AC 110-240 Volt converters for servers that run off of AC

Alas in San Francisco someone pulled the Plug on a famous web service and plugged it in regular non back up power plug on wall - So a simple power unplugging shut down the servers -

All I can say is Kimmo quickly discovered that when he pushed Lollie and other CP crap - Somehow his server lost power and later that web host said By By for rules violation and kept his $$

More common is to send a complaint to the Web Entity for a violation of the Law IF THAT Fails one just contacts say GoDaddy etc etc

IF that fails as often occurs one simple goes UP Tier - There are only a very few Tier 1 providers who have one hell of a strict Terms of Service and they take complaints seriously IF the lower Tier chooses to ignore the laws.

Now of course any web host who has lost the ISP can re-locate BUT if they relocate to a new ISP who uses the same Tier 1 provider?

Ease of shut down is so much quicker - and choices of Tier 1's is EXTREMELY LIMITED.

Why did you use the name “Anon to remain Anon“? Your text voice is obvious, Lynne.

You are so full of shit. AnonTalk was never hosted on a physical server in California. It was on a rented server provided by PRQ in Sweden.

did you read the thread? it said "neo-laghouls" and "almost 3 years ago". Of course it wasn't the old GHOUL.

Here in So Cal - Bit of history
US a few years ago went to war with Mexico to annex Texas. Mexico lost and US ended up with Texas New Mexico and California (eventually)

Very few Italians and Irish here - most are where its currently cold as sin in Boston and New York

Majority of Americans near by speak Spanish, as Spain was the original invader of where I live.

Also you might remember that b4 Irish and Italians came to wot is known as USA currently - It was Brits and Spain and even [Russia (west coast for furs)]

So Brits brought the English to US and then there was some kind of Tea party which is not related to current Tea Party
