Actually not so much so wealthy these days - To much Real Estate including a large house undergoing repair in Cambridge Massachusetts. Lease is up on one house near me and not so much so sure the company that normally houses new execs hired is going to continue to hire cause what they do for a living should be re-directed to Virus stuff instead of the Gene stuff that currently people don't really have any urgent need4 - So I could end up stuck trying to find a quality person-family to lease it n that is one pain I DON'T NEED NOW -
I am also under the gun stock wise since I decided to buy low just prior to market tanking and several stocks I bought LOW - Well they are selling for less than I paid for them.
One key example is Disney stock which over time has been just OUTSTANDING - Yet most recent buy in when it was down before the current mess/virus - I continued to buy more Disney and of course with all the theme parks CLOSED and those Cruise Ships in dry dock or wet whatever - Bottom line is stuff I bought years ago INCLUDING back in my married days - Over all doing GREAT but hey what counts is wood I sell stuff I bought a century ago to make a quick killing to UP my bank account?
Deal is one has to have a large amount sitting in a bank yearning ZERO interest if one wants the Bank Execs to be extra nice when one needs them to be NICE so it's grrrrrr
I am prohibited from using Crypto currency currently but think that may change - Frankly with how volatile its been it is NOT my cup of tea.
Will say for YOU If you have the time cause it takes a LOT of TIME - Day trading can be very profitable currently. My Ex Gf who I am staying at her ranch near by for most evenings and that may last for a bit longer than I may want it too but it does cum with shall we say CUM - Fringe benefits and all - She is doing day trading and she is more better at that than I have been in the past. Does take watching the news and reading a ton of shit daily about business matters and the Bible of course is the Wall Street Journal and Investor's Business Daily and similar rags.
Trump can whisper a tweet and the market tanks - She is good at 4casting shit Trump may say and then she will buy that stock that is most impacted and even buy on Short and if you have not tried buying short just make sure you have money in bank or in some liquid form to back up a loss. I hate buying stocks short but I admit recently I have.
Betting on a company failing or tanking for a bit is nasty nasty stuff but it sure can be done on margins that can make one $$$ Or lose and I sure have called it wrong - Also the companies I no a lot about - I am prohibited in many cases from buy or sell even IF I own the stock I have to park it at times -
People do tell me GOLD Buy Gold in a Panic - I have but not recently - Just holding on to my Gold n Silver - I am not the person to really ask about this cause I cannot for the life of me figure out why US Dollar is so strong when US Gov in just cranking out the paper to make more $$$ with Nada to back up the $$$ Trillions now being printed and of course US Gov sells bonds to Foreign countries like China LoL - China actually does not hold that much US Paper but they sure keep trying to when interest rates are nice
IF and I mean this IF - I new something about commodities and you may? - Lets assume for the moment that MEAT gets in short supply in the food chain - Lots of reason this could happen and not many reason it WON'T happen - I wood buy Wheat and Barley cause people will have to resort to Rice Beans Wheat Barley and Barley is great in Soups and f 4Making Beer and even Scotch but that takes years to wait for the cash return years later while it ages.
So IF I had the time instead of work I do daily - I wood study Commodities.
In the mean time what I buy is directly related to companies that make products PEOPLE REALLY REALLY Need. The only smart move I made and that was about 6 months ago was with AMD and this crisis is GREAT for AMD and only because of server chips and the CLOUD aka Server Farms are being built like crazy with AMD chips and not necessarily CPUs as the Graphic chips are often the choice instead -
Its all about cost of cooling and energy required to run chips and keep em cool That stock has doubled for me nor wood I have the smarts to have made that choice - It was a chance run in with one engineer at a company I consult for who is or was trying to compete with Intel and AMD and I asked if he thought they wood be successful and he said well maybe but not for some tyme so I said ok and I bought AMD instead of more stock of company I do work for but totally Unrelated to chips for Servers Yet they do make chips that RUN very cool compared to Intel or AMD but getting in2 such business is tricky even if one has a better chip. Different software required as well as stuff I am no expert on at all.
So hey Y not look at what happens IF the Food chain is fucked - 4instance IF ICE continues to raid plants that hire illegals. 50% of Calif Ag biz is manned by Illegals and those Meat processors use Illegals like crazy and it's a biz where people get sick real fast cause they work so close to each other and the enviro is WET and not good for health and anyway Maybe PORK Bellies - Buy low sell hi AND they say Pork going to be more difficult to process
So IF the supply drops and price of course goes HI - How wood U make $$
