Well Toadman aka Fatfuck did get to Beijing and quickly picked up Tuberculosis. Stuck in a hospital he described as arwful unkempt conditions. Pay is more better in Beijing but the cost of living is also much higher. Because the smog was horrific he could not remain and ended up getting a teaching job in Kunming a city at the bottom of the list of cities for expats to move to.
I worked/traveled the world for a living and it was just FUCKING TERRIFIC American company paying me a huge wage and wot I found funny was that on some assignments I would get double or triple my salary cause the US Embassy declared those places dangerous. Colombia payed a fucking fortune but it was so bad you had to live in a guarded fenced compound n were not allowed to wander in2 any city. I said NO NO to that assignment.
Russia for instance was terrific and I never felt a moment of unsafe- One day I asked a Russian who I was working with if he ever felt unsafe. He said sure - To many poor people and lots of crime but during daylight hours he knew he was a-ok to walk the streets - But never at night ALONE
Someone from the Russian Mafia approached me and welcomed me and said Hey if anyone bothers you - Just call on one of us for protection and help. They are easy to spot in Russia - Very visible.
The End travel on other peoples money is the way to go and I bet there are decent places for a teaching job, but one has to be smarter then Matt aka Fatfuck to get them.

It's pretty amazing how things have turned out for Syntax. While Matt is enjoying pleasant conversations on Minichan with Triptych, Kook and all the mods, Syntax has been reduced to posting on here, alone.

Damn I read that reply twice + a bit of the 3rd time.
You are spot on accurate. Because of my Dyslexia, when I look at Shitchan, I cannot recognize Bert by text speak. I have tried a few times and given up.
Its probably 14 years since I first ran into him. He was/is proud of his loading up on Everclear. Getting it down as fast as possible. For a number of years he loaded up on Coke and I think he may have kicked the Coke habit. I could email him and ask.
Of course I do not know who triptych is other then seeing a random post about her when I look in at that chan. But with Bert he has always targeted one or two women on the net and then made a mess of himself during the process. At the Reef it was Sandy the owner. Then when she put up her pics asram aka Bert went further over the top. Started to freak her out.
He honestly believes he has a chance with each of these woman. But he turns them against him and I know he does not mean to do this. Yet he continues down that dark road and has been doing this for so many years.
A few tell me via mail he has allied himself with Matt. For a dozen plus years he openly hated Matt so I have no clue why he would become a Matt white knight. In mail I brought this up but he never answered that question.
One thing is for sure. 90+ PEOPLE on Reef/Mentalward/Bianca/ worked on getting asram to see the light re Coke and how it would kill him. So at least a few of us were successful in getting him to see the light. Its odd how he can get fired and mostly because of getting high, yet find a new job very quickly.
Have to hand that to him because he knows how to work hard and keep getting jobs, but not on how to stay sober to keep them.
Thanks a bunch for the reply on asram/bert. And yes he is net addicted much like Matt. Imagine actually ending up in a new place on planet earth yet living all the free hours on a keyboard. Truly a shame how many fall for that trap of living as if wired in.
I always use the line that I am paid to play and 99% of that is true. IF I am on the net its during quick breaks from work - Usually waiting for a Satellite to come into view of one of my Tracking Control Command Stations around the world - often I only have 6 minutes on average to do contact with a bird - then have to wait maybe 20 mins to get into contact with it again. So if I have everything set and ready and figured out then I get 20 mins of free time to play. May read news or even have TV on in background. When on trips as I did for say Russia for 6 months at a shot solid, nada free time for net play because any free time was me out and about in the city.
Matt will one day return to USA, and have only memories of that one light bulb room and some net play. Very sad.
