I ordered myself one of those gender-neutral dolls that Mattel put out since I looked up what name they were released under. They're expensive at $30 apiece, but Wal-Mart had them marked down to only $9.97 so naturally, I took advantage of the discount. I think it was a Cyber Monday thing. I have it set for store pickup. I purchased the blond-haired one (since they're categorized by hair color) even though I really do not like the short hair that comes with the doll. Just from the picture alone, I could tell that these dolls have pretty good articulation. I swear, I wish toy manufacturers made dolls like these when I was a kid or else I would have likely played with them more instead of stuff like Polly Pockets, etc. There are times when I truly envy the younger generations of today who have the opportunity to have neat toys like these. I'm looking forward to playing with this one.

It's still a fairly decent bargain though since these are usually around thirty bucks. I wanted to go grab the Asian one since they're really adorable. Though the black one looks cute too.

I love how Mattel finally smarten up and realize that young girls likely want more flexibility in their toys. I don't know why this was always something that was common among toys targeting boys. Barbies are starting to do it now and I suppose these toys aren't exactly targeting girls or boys given that there are some boys in the promotional pictures playing with them. I just wish there were more dolls like this but they really should just make the base bald with the short hair being a wig. Not doing it this way kind of defeats the purpose.
