Hitler a democrat?
"The Nazi problem comes down to this: As an ultra-nationalist, socially conservative, anti-egalitarian and fascist ideology, Nazism naturally falls on the extreme far-right end of the political spectrum."
"Above all, the Nazis were German white nationalists. What they stood for was the ascendancy of the “Aryan” race and the German nation, by any means necessary."
"Hitler was never a socialist. But although he upheld private property, individual entrepreneurship, and economic competition, and disapproved of trade unions and workers’ interference in the freedom of owners and managers to run their concerns, the state, not the market, would determine the shape of economic development. Capitalism was, therefore, left in place. But in operation it was turned into an adjunct of the state."

Trump says he is a White Nationalist. Trump is also an ultra-nationalist socially conservative, anti-egalitarian.
Easy to see why people equate Trump with Hitler. Hitler was successful until of course, the bitter end. Trump will never live up to Hitlers legacy, because Trump is not man enough to take his own life.

Why did the nazis want "death to marxism" then, my big-brained friend?

Did you even read the Britannica entry you referenced? Because Hitler understood the power of propaganda. He wanted to redefine socialism and establish it as the antithesis to Marxism, rather than some kind of precursor or corollary. He was pretty successful at first too.
