I'm not a very big fan of anime but I did recently check out Princess Mononoke on the advice of a friend who knows of my love of classic cinema. I enjoyed it. I never thought animation could successfully capture the range and nuances of human emotion, which is why I'd largely dismissed the genre, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

ssss.gridman was really good, i liked flcl alternative more than i expected considering the things ive heard about progressive werent exactly high praise. i've also been getting into macross, which is really good on like, every level. it has the energy of watching something stupid and bad, except if it was good

i havent watched it but it just doesn't seem very good at all tbh. alternative is pretty strong though, it's only really when it has to be tied to flcl that it kinda falters? haruko is just kind of there a lot of the time but i really like the cast otherwise
