Like none of the above. A proper Manc like doc pronounces the Sal with a flat 'o' sound as in 'hot'. And it's not 'ford' at the end, it's a short 'fed' sound, with the 'e' like the one at the end of 'computer'. Emphasis on the first syllable. Funnily enough a month ago I was in Gregg's in the Arndale Centre getting a meat and 'tater pastie and I thought of doc.

Before my family emigrated to Inowrocław when I was 6, there was a boy in Barendrecht where I was born who was from the north west of England. I can still remember his funny way of pronouncing words. He swore a lot and everything was "fookin' hell" this and "yer a fookin' knob mate" that. I find there's a musicality to English accents that is lacking in Americans.
