I once farted while in an elevator. This was not on purpose, and the smell was strong. I still wonder if people knew it was me, but I made a lot of effort to try to look around in a puzzled way, so that people would think that it was definitely not me!

the AC at work blows out a farty smell once every few hours, probably someone else's fart that it picked up in a different part of the building. being worried the hot chick across from me might think it was me I once yelled out "did someone just fart" way too loud.

On one occasion, I left on bad terms with my boss. I'd lined up another job to start in a few weeks, so I told him he was a massive prick and he can take a flying fuck at the moon. As you can imagine I thought I scored a major pwn as i cleared out my desk and took that two weeks of vacation i had saved up.
Unknown to me, my new employer called up my old boss asking for a reference. When I got back from my holiday, I found a letter in the postbox informing me that my services would not be required, particularly in view of my disgusting behavior towards my previous employer. There I was, no money, no job, no contract and no prospects whatsoever. It was, without doubt, one of the most worst decisions I had ever made, but it taught me a hell of a lot about treating everyone with respect and not counting my chickens before they're hatched.

@previous (H)Oh Yea I totally believe your story - There is a saying Never Burn your Bridges. No matter how much you want to.
There is one client of mine I so wished I had the guts to do that - One I would love to get out of my life - However the work I do is a Networks and Telecommunications people like Engineering Managers and HR people cross pollinate. So I guess I will be stuck with AT&T for the rest of my Consulting life. And sure enough there are now so many people I no that work there on upper management positions who used to work with me or for another one of my fyne clients. On occasion I even end up asking them for favors re assignments. So I continue to grit my teeth and bear the pain - AT&T prior to being acquired by Southwestern Bell was one Hell of a Great Company SWB A Horrid company that only bought AT&T for the Name and of course some patents - Maybe I will be lucky and the people I despise that I still report to will end up retiring before I die and slowly some are leaving - One just was picked up by another client and paybacks a bitch and I soon will have my day making his life MISERABLE because that company needs me far more than they need him.

A couple of times I've stumbled over words when reading from the Bible, and one time I was reading from entirely the wrong chapter. That was in my early days as a priest though. I haven't had any awkward moments for a good while now, touch wood.

Mostly problems due to non-functioning autism filter and saying inappropriate things, but it's improved a grate deal. Hard to pick a single most awk situation though.
