Usually that kind of interest indicates a hidden desire to reach out and communicate in some way due to self-identification with the individual. To be seen as being supportive would be a bad move, however. So the only option is to abuse them.

True. It's not so much "obsession" as it is a desire to form a bond with someone with whom one identifies.

Ionno, that has many other factors to take account, e.g. the last time that fat ugly drunked pedo made an ass of himself (relativity), at what frequent does the one making fun of the said pedo, and how much does the fun he made is in quality (good lulz or worn out shtick) and plenty other
