If you just walk, eventually you'd get somewhere, but you're always where you're at.

But walking out of town with nothing is called "going gearless and fearless" and it's only advisable if you're on a bunch of acid in a friendly area, or have some traveling experience. If you're really thinking of leaving to get a fresh perspective, get a hiking pak, bring snacks, your ID, your phone, and water, lookup somewhere to go, and just head that direction.

Traveling alone as a newb to the road is kinda unadvisable though unless you do a lot of research on where you're going and roads to get there.

It took me and a girlfriend two weeks to get to Texas from California hitching, and we were both pretty experienced, and it was an exhausting terrifying exhilarating experience
