They are just simple games made using RPG Maker, but there was a lot of care put into them.

The games I am referring to is the Learn Japanese to Survive games.

I just bought the third and likely final installment which focuses on Kanji.

But I just started a new game of Katakana.

Learn Japanese to Survive: Kanji Combat $1.79
Rise of the Tomb Raider $8.99
Rise of the Tomb Raider: Emdurance DLC $2.79 or so It just looked like an interesting DLC pack.
Some navigation bar program that looked interesting for around the same price as the DLC.

I am contemplating on picking up Cardlife which is a Minecraft that looks like it adds its nice little spin to it with the aesthetics looking like, well, cardboard. The crafting system looks interesting too.

Yeah, the first time I loaded up the game, that surprised me. They most certainly granted me an easy entry to the language. They will always hold a special place in my heart for those reasons. I might have felt intimidated by something so easy as kana though I have looked at them prior.

I would assume the hardest part comes from grammar and kanji, right?

I miss having a usable PC. StarCraft and the broodwar expansion were fun. Starsiege tribes for the original fps I enjoyed out of some arcade games.

My friend just showed me the total war series, that looks pretty great as well

grammar gets difficult with verb conjugation and dictionary forms and such but kanji is more difficult if you're aiming for literacy
which isn't gonna happen. you'll never be like, newspaper literate in japanese as a secondary language
