All I would do when I played the sims was make everyone go swimming in the pool, then remove the ladder, watch them headstones pop up in the backyard next to the grill and basketball hoop.
I tried that in real life, doesn't work, they just get mad.

I like to build houses and screw around.
My last save was a house that was a rectangle 4 x 12 in dimension (according to the grid system)
Walk in the front door and you're in the kitchen. Bathroom on the left. Walk right and go down about three steps and you're in the bedroom.
Tiny TV on the wall and underneath was an end table with a tiny radio on it.
Bought the bee hives. Made like 500 off of those each day or two. Then started growing roses and got rich without ever having a job.
There's a mod called basemental drugs that lets you grow and sell weed.

It does. It's not worth the money at all. I didn't buy it though.
My wife plays it too. That's really why I still play it. Not that I wouldn't play it without her, it's just I never would have taken the time to find it and download it if it weren't for her wanting to play.
When it first came out there were no swimming pools.
What the fuck.
In the latest expansion, four years and ~20 packs/whatever after it came out, we just now got terrain editing tools.
What makes it good though is the mods. The modding community made this game great. Legit.
You can homeschool your kids and everything (if you have them), thanks to mods.
Basically everything about it is subpar. Like they finally gave us pets last year. All that was included were cats and dogs and there's no store to go to in order to pick one out or anything. So unless you make one in create a sim when you first start, you'll get a mix breed great dane/Chihuahua named piano from the adoption service. But there are no dog houses. Just beds.
Then they made a stuff pack that included hamsters. But they're non existent. It's just a hamster cage object. You can't do anything but interact with the cage itself and watch them run around.
No birds or anything like that. If I could find a decent copy of the sims 3 with all the expansions I would prefer it.

The entire point of the sims is that it's single player. You're free to do whatever you want on it without having to deal with others' opinions.
That's why I like it. Granted I play it like it's a survival RPG or something. Trying to see how long my sims can survive under their own free will (mostly) with as little
as possible.
