My LGBT friend gets all 'butt-hurt' and reams me out on FB whenever I use the word 'faggot' or poke fun at the gay community. I don't intentionally offend him/her (their gender is ambiguous, as they've had a sex change)…I explain to them that I am just using the word figuratively or as a joke and that I believe Free Speech should be ABSOLUTE, but they continue to cry foul everytime I use the 'fag' word…
Am I in the wrong? Here is what I think re: Free Speech. Do you guys concur?

I told said Friend: "I also use the word ‘nigga’ frequently, but don’t mean anything racist by it. I have several black friends, and we use the word affectionately (eg. “How’s it goin’, my nigga?!”).
