I’m so embarrassed and ashamed of all the things I’ve said and done while under the influence that I feel compelled to:
-change cities
-change my legal name
-dramatically alter my appearance
-delete any traces of myself from the Internet, as challenging as that may prove
...among other radical steps in an effort to forge a new identity
Should I just chill and let time heal the wounds?
Deepest apologies for the incessant whining, but how does one face themselves in the mirror after years of drinking and experiencing morning-after regrets?

I was thinking an alternative would be to rat out my old dealers, get a monetary reward from CrimeStoppers, go into Witness Protection and get a new house, job, and fresh start.

Personally OP, I've acted by two major principles all of my life:
1. It doesn't pay to be a tattle-tale
2. Never burn bridges
If you go through with erasing yourself, keep in mind that all of your past business isn't going to suddenly disappear as well. Unfinished business, conversations you've wanted to have with people, your old life will be an unfinished 26% completion run, never to be picked up again
