Americans have taken so much from our British cousins, such as sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system, and public health, but why have we not adopted their swearing, like "tosspot", "knobhead", "arsehole", "bollocks to that", "sod off you wally", "you stupid git", "oh my giddy aunt", and so on?
