The same happened to me. I was confused until I started getting calls from numbers almost identical to mine. I found out it's pretty common to have your number spoofed for spam calls so reported numbers end up being less accurate. Shit's annoying.

In other words, your number probably did call them - just as a spammer. You should fuck with the mother and son regardless, though. Make use of the opportunity.
