Maybe the drive has an incompatible filesystem. That's why I always use FAT for external and flash drives.

I've always loved seeing FAT32 when I look at a drive's properties, and I can't really explain why

It's formatted as EXFAT. From what I read, it appears to be a carrier introduced glitch. Only versions on this carrier have this problem. Fucking AT&T.

NTFS is for Windows and isn't a great choice for external drives unless your data lives in an exclusively-Windows world.
