You need to dump him, too. It's inevitable that you'll meet up with him again at some point in the future - maybe in a few months, maybe in a year or two. He's extremely likely to put out feelers, because that's what guys do. Make sure you're done with him now so he can't hurt you again later. Remember how he's treated you, and dismiss him with the same degree of kindness or disdain.
Another man's going to come along sooner or later. With any luck he'll be a far better specimen than this one was.
