Any break up is like a serious surgery - Takes time to heal - So just give it time. In the mean time do not feel bad about feeling bad. It will get more better but just takes TIME

The no connect over the holidays may have been a hint. I once said no thanks to the invite to spend a holiday with a gals parents because I just did not see any long term point in a relationship with her - Then while she was gone I met a new gal and we connected with exchange of phone numbers and well when gal came back from holiday I broke it off. She later said she had a feeling things were not going all that well.
Being one of that age I am - Lots of relationships and lots of break ups - Most were on my part and I have friends that always tell me that I need to end it if if I am not serious because in the end I will hurt the gal - I DO NOT like hurting anyone I have made love with so it is not easy to end it.

The why is one of the most key differences between male and female. When women fall they fall hard. They get hooked in much more so than a guy. So it is much harder for them to let go after it does not work out.

I don't wanna be the one to say it, but you'll hear it eventually.....
"I need time to get it together....."
That's the same thing I told my ex wife in 2010. We both agreed tho, that splitting up would be best, so it was mutual. 2 months later, she wanted to get back together. I no longer felt what I used to, and I said those same words....... I haven't seen her since.
If it happens, I hope it works for you. If it doesn't, then it doesn't. There is no point in dwelling on it, and trying to change something you can't.
