Topic: Should I be disturbed that there is a group of nerds out there who wish Joi was real?

Joi is a character from the 2017 film Blade Runner 2049 and was essentially an Amazon Echo or Google Home product that allowed the artificial intelligence to project a human image of itself to whomever its owner was. 4chan in particular and more specifically /tv/ constantly make threads about this character as if they were actually depressed that she wasn't a real toy they could go out and buy. 4chan has become a must more sadder place filled with virgins and /pol/ retards. Is this the future state of humanity? I mean, they are most likely just a very niche demographic considering that most "normies" wouldn't go for such a thing, but considering how we're getting sex robots from Japanese manufactures I wouldn't be surprised. Are there seriously individuals out there that seek out the love and acceptance from something artificial instead of something that many have described as intoxicating if found in the right places?
This also comes from a board that used to mock those who would leave the theatre after watching James Cameron's Avatar feeling depressed that Pandora wasn't real and that they weren't a Na'vi. I fail to see how this isn't equally as pathetic or ironic as that.

You should be disturbed by what a disappointment BR2049 was.

@previous (B)
What made the film a disappointment exactly?
