I used to work at 5 libraries on the U of T campus and, one in particular, was a hot-spot for Muslim academics with a fascination for Jihadist literature.
Don't get me wrong, some of the Brown dudes I worked with were pretty chill, and we'd watch soccer and discuss politics behind the reference desk, in-between having to sign out the odd book or kick out a homeless person...
The problem was a select group of poli-sci majors who sported a very stern perma-frown, spoke in Urdu, and avoided white people like the plague. They attempted to brainwash me into reading Al Jazeera and being skeptical of Western media. I made a few jokes about the Prophet and such, and then became the target of 'reverse racism'. The Muslim clique would point me out, and utter spitefully in Urdu, one time even making a slit-throat gesture towards me. They keep to themselves; but I KNOW they're up to something. If I alert the uni libraries, suddenly I'M the racist! You just can't win...
