Topic: Can you show me evidence that tells me that the Earth isn't flat?
+Anonymous A — 8.6 years ago #49,530
You can't, can you? You would have to escape the firmament and that requires a lot of money. Plus the government and NASA would never allow you to achieve such things. So all you have is a bunch of "proof" by a corrupt shadow government trying to control you and make you into their own little mind slaves. Show me solid evidence that the Earth is round and maybe I would forgo this belief that it is flat. No, better yet, show me evidence and I would properly kill myself for I have been wrong my entire life. Go ahead, that is how confident I am. Show me what you got!

Thank you for your post. I totally forgot about Rocket Man who was about to prove the Earth is Flat

$20,000 to Rocket up to 2000 Feets - Damn fool could drive up to one of many Mountains over 5000 Feet and take his photo
Now as to proof the Earth is NOT Flat. Really

You YES U accept all the science it takes to connect to internet or even the light from a bulb when you flip a switch -
Anyway mucho thanks cause Cathy lives not that far from where the future test will take place of the Steam powered Rocket

All that text and not a single shred of proof the earth is round. You fail again old man.

This is an awfully long-winded way of saying "I can't prove the earth isn't flat".

Both of you have heard of electrons yet not once have you viewed such. Of course there are instruments that can now C such - Just that you have to accept science and use it.

My wallet depends on filling up cause Satellites which take about 1.5 hours to go around de Earth do so to keep filling my wallet up

Like all those people who "accepted" Einstein's Static Universe theory? Lol you've made such a mess of yourself in this thread. Yet again you have no idea what you're talking about.

Now where did anyone say any single scientist is infallible. His theory and math were quickly discounted but it took years to prove until the red shift was measured.

Another Rocket Man.
Oh if Kim Jung-un would only shoot a rocket into space to prove the conspiracy theory true: Jews have duped the entire world into believing the world is round!
This great big flat word is full of spherecucks!

The United Nations flag as well as aviation maps at airports are all like this.
This is a pic from an airport. They all know it's flat.

One of the best documented methods for determining the Earth's roundness was first performed (to our knowledge) by the ancient Greeks. This was achieved by comparing the shadows of sticks in different locations. When the sun was directly overhead in one place, the stick there cast no shadow. At the same time in a city around 500 miles north, the stick there did cast a shadow.
If the Earth were flat then both sticks should show the same shadow (or lack of) because they would be positioned at the same angle towards the sun. The ancient Greeks found the shadows were different because the Earth was curved and so the sticks were at different angles. They then used the difference in these angles to calculate the circumference of the Earth. They managed to get it to within 10% of the true value – not bad for around 250 B.C.

Assuming the sun is far enough. In the model that flat eartheres propose the sun is smaller and closer to the earth so this test is pretty pointless and ill give you an example. Say you are in a big warehouse with a perfectly flat cement floor if you only have one light source you can place two objects(sticks for example albeit much smaller) and depending on the height of theight source you can get vastly different shadows. Is the ground curved? No its just the position of yhe ligh source. So if you consider the distance that is 500 miles a slight shadow(i doubt the shadows were too different) is probably well within the error limits of a sun that is much smaller and closer or even on that is very large and far.

umm there're mountains and cliffs all over the Earth, so it definitely isn't flat
In fact I'd say it's pretty rough

It won't be rough if you somehow managed to hold the sphere in your hands.
Take the time and watch the video, it's pretty informative.

I gave the video 4 minutes of my time. Does it conclude with any conclusion?
I kinda gave up when the centrifugal force thing wood keep me from falling over at the edge and then if I did I wood simply walk or run down the edge
At that point I laffed and said ok but wood like to no what happens at the end of that edge as in like do I fall into a no oxygen space or flip up on the back side and just wot is on the back side of that disk?

You would stabilize and feel normal like you do now. Like how we're walking on round Earth. Also, I can imagine running down the edge would feel like falling.
