some c&p from online..

That 1905 season started strong for the Volunteers with a 16-6 win over the Tennessee School for the Deaf and a 104-0 demolition of American Temperance University. But after a 5-5 tie with Clemson, Tennessee lost 45-0 to Vanderbilt at home.

That’s the second worst home loss after a 56-0 defeat at the hands of Kentucky in 1893.

For more than a century, Tennessee avoided getting embarrassed at home by more than 40 points, but Saturday cracked open the history books. Quarterback Quinten Dormady completed just five of his 16 passes for 64 yards and two interceptions. Backup Jarrett Guarantano didn’t fare much better with only 16 yards on seven attempts.

It was the first time Tennessee has been shut out in a loss since a 31-0 loss to Florida in 1994.
