Christians can think for themselves. Being a Christian is a choice you make once you gather together all the information and conclude "this is the one true religion". It takes thought and knowledge to do that. I'm fairly sure that you (OP) would struggle to understand, say, the arguments of Aquinas or Berkeley. I'm also fairly sure you would struggle to master Biblical Hebrew and ancient Greek, in order to have a full understanding of the Bible.
