Actually, in cases of movies that boast this, many facts are exaggerated, to increase the entertainment value of a film. Most movies based on true stories have several things changed, exaggerated, or just plain left out. You can see this in films based on books, as well. Jurassic Park, for instance, has several things changed about it. For instance, in the book Dr.Grant is said to love children. However, his stance is the opposite is Spielberg's telling of the story. There are several other differences, which I will not discuss here, as most are spoilers for the book.
The moral:Hollywood changes existing stories, when they adapt them into movies, because they make more money that way. They also do it to make it fit within the 90-120 minute standard run-time.

Did the film change some details for cinematic purposes? Of course yes. Does that then mean those 3 boys aren't currently dead, and that systemic racist murder wasn't an issue in America? No.
In fact the main criticism of that movie (voiced by Spike Lee) is that it doesn't depict the horror enough, it instead follows a 'white savior' narrative, where the good old white FBI boys come to the blacks' rescue. Which isn't actually what happened at all.

The liberal media is invested (literally) in promoting social division and 'anarchy' (the modern meaning of that word, not the proper one). Without special interest groups, the Democrats/mainstream media don't have a base. But that is a far cry from suggesting, as you seemed to, that there is not also a very real and very big problem with systemic anti-black racism in certain parts of America today.
