The only way forward is to send them out to colonize the moon, Mars, and so on. They'll spread from world to world and star to star. In a couple millennias time they will have entirely blacked out the night sky when viewed from Earth. Those unfortunate souls left behind here will die, and the empire of space Mormons will flourish until it encounters alien life... then history will repeat itself in a new galaxy. P.S. Space war now.
