That's the word around Knoxville, at least.
Tho, all our sources are nuggets, so reliability is spotty at best. They seemed like this isn't the type of thing they'd lie about, for what it's worth.

I'm sure it does.
It's like this... he wrecked the hoopty in the middle of nowhere, no one's coming, the car's on fire, but he's just watching it go up in flames from inside.
He's not stunned or anything, there's a fire extinguisher in the trunk, and the only thing keeping him from removing himself from this burning vehicle seems to be a fear of a minor injury despite the only other option being certain death.
It'll hurt getting out, there's broken glass everywhere, burning polyester, etc.
Most people would still get out, accept that crawling out of such wreckage isn't fun, but it's a hell of a lot better than staying in the car and roasting to death.
Bert doesn't, or at least if he intends to get out he's taking his sweet time and there isn't always much time to delay in accidents this bad.
It's not like anyone expected Bert to achieve grate things, but that's okay, not everyone does. That's part of what makes grate things grate.
However, I guarantee you his friends and family would still rather tell people about how he crawled out of that wreckage than how he died in it.
I know I'd rather have a few extra scars than a shiny new casket.

How old was Matt when he moved back in with his mother - thirty-seven or so? Maybe Bert's set a new record.

Doesn't matter. You're probably the oldest guy ever to be living with his mom.

Try not to drive her into an early grave like you did with your Father.

He's also still jobless and homeless.
