Bert is a failed adult. I don't know why you guys give him so much shit. Even if he is such a huge old homeless bum and not some LARPER pretending then nothing he does short of winning the lottery will change much for him. In fact, his shitposting is quality entertainment and you're fools to not realize it.

As for the college thing, on paper this is a very benign thing the government is doing. The reality however is that it basically serves to buy society, in Tennessee at least, some time. It will give the unemployed and recent high school grads that can't get jobs something to do rather than get violent and/or politically active. The colleges themselves will probably suffer as it's basically been shown that people that go to community on the government's dime have pretty piss poor results. This will only serve to strain colleges as their numbers will increase with even more people who are only there to get the government check which in turn will probably cost them one of the few benefits community colleges have - the student/teacher ratio and it will further cheapen what we consider "further education" as AA/AS become the new standard.

Time will tell but I don't think this will end up as rosy as people think it will. Whatever anyone says the school system in the US creates a lot of burnouts and tacking on more time, which is what this is effectively doing, isn't gonna help the piss poor eduction we get in high school. What should happen is that high school needs to be overhauled or even scrapped completely. Students should get education right the first goddamn time not just simply add on more school time.
