I am American but honestly what is the point of it all? I've tried learning languages before but then you realize that there's no one that speaks anything else besides spanish here and I don't have the money or patience to travel to another country.
Also everyone else has extremely limited media(other than the Japanese) and I'm not a weeaboo so there.

I used to travel the world and there was never a single language other than English that worked most of the time. Frankly some of my best experiences came about because I could not speak the language and needed help and the people I met as a result and experiences ended up FRANKLY FUCKING AMAZING WONDERFUL & Memorable.

@previous (A)IF I were any good at languages I wood learn Spanish. Mostly because its a Latin based language and if Traffic is ideal I am 35 minutes from the border
One example of difficulty is the word Chile - Also the word Salsa is almost beyond any rational explanation. Asking a Latino gal in a Mexican supermarket how she makes her Chile sauce as I watch her pick out dried chili's - Have learned a lot but it took almost 4ever to learn it
And of course the variations will take the rest of my life to learn

Klingon language
Sumerian language
And maybe Japanese, but only so you can play the untranslated Princess Maker games and enjoy anime better. But otherwis those four.
