Not as long as Communism continues to fail.

Communism will always fail

Do you mean "Star Track?"

+Anonymous D9.3 years ago, 2 minutes later, 6 minutes after the original post[T] [B] #515,995

Ideology is irrelevant so long as there exist finite resources. The only reason that Star Trek utopias works is because they don't have scarcity.

What if societies rely on renewable resources?

What if everyone lived forever.
What if violence didn't exist.
What if humanity could think long term.
What if we didn't have greed.

Your question is in the same vein as the above. The fact is that we need more than just renewable energy(which is what you're implying). For example, take oil. We can have all the solar and wind farms in the world but so long as plastics exist, and their use is only projected to grow, we will continue to drill for hydrocarbons as polymers are derived from them. What needs to happen is for humanity to either get new sources of these materials or make some sort of device that can literally rearrange atoms. Otherwise we're in deep shit long term.

The question I asked isn't that impossible compared to the ones you just compared it too. Imagine how much oil we'd have for plastics if we didn't waste it for our cars.

How shortsighted you are. What about in 100 or even 1000 years. Even if we only use what we use now eventually we'll run out. This rock can't sustain us forever.

There are still renewable resources, bud.

Metals and Oil aren't renewable retard.

So move away from metals or start recycling.

There aren't any alternatives and we already recycle but that doesn't mean a lot of the metal made don't just waste away due to rusting and the like.

Wonder materials like carbon nano-tubes just aren't viable to be mass produced at least not for now. Wood and stone are too weak, ceramics are not tough enough and will fail at the smallest of cracks which leaves you only with metal, particularly steel.

Does the world really need more skyscrapers?

·Anonymous D9.3 years ago, 7 minutes later, 3 hours after the original post[T] [B] #516,019

@previous (A)
There are a lot more things than just skyscrapers that use metal unfortunately.
