Yet more stupid plastic gimmicks that will end up in a landfill.

Why would people throw out something that costs $22 and looks like a great way to channel one's fridget nature?

For the same reason stupid people pay $400 or more for a cell phone. Use it for two or three years, upgrade to a $600 phone, throw away $400 phone.

Theres been a lot of fidgety stuff pop up in the EDC community over the past couple of years, but the only thing that I really liked was the begleri... which isn't exactly new, but has been incorporated as part of a stimming routine for a larger audience.

This looks like it requires some skills, but looks cool though.

What is the EDC and how are they only a step above the Doomsday Preppers?

EDC = everyday carry
Bunch of people that like to share what they carry daily. IG and r/edc have good examples.

> tinycomrade
Literally one step above an Aum Shinrikyo cultist and idgaf, sprite.

I know, lol, I would never buy a knockoff product from China there. Shit, I think I still have a shitty laptop my mother bought from China that would literally smoke and we worried about it combusting. I still wanted to see what I could use it for, though. It used some unheard of Windows operating system. I'd image something like this would break easily.

damlol
It couldn't have been much smoke if you were still willing to use it, but the fact that you were is still funny. The fumes might not be healthy tho.

I actually didn't use it even when I got it. I wasn't committed enough to any ambitions for it and I was afraid of the smoke. It's just sitting in storage somewhere.

EDC stands for everyday carry. Its basically a bunch of people that obsess about the shit they carry every day like wallet keys etc except that they take it one step further and carry(or at least presume to carry) lots of crap like knives lockpick sets flares and other stupid shit.
They are like preppers in that they fawn over these imagined scenarios where this junk will magically save them or alternatively make them a hero. Much like what the preppers did to legitimate emergency preparedness products EDC is doing to okayish consumer products that are suddenly thinking themselves something special and jacking up prices since from the looks of it a lot of these people are the equivalent urban cowboys with deep wallets.
It's another perversion of the consumerist culture.

Shit, and I thought I was obsessive for worrying about where to store my cards in case my wallet gets taken. I just don't feel comfortable carrying around a wallet in my pocket anymore and it's an illogical yet somewhat logical fear I hold for the city I am in.

lol
When it comes to the stuff I'm into, it's nice and pricey-box-opening-manjewelry. A knife and a small flashlight is still handy af. Burglary tools and flares are not the norm, obviously.
@previous (Catherine !TGirlYJKXM)
Just carry it sideways in your pocket.
