Topic: Wii U officially the first Nintendoes console without a new "Legend of Zelda" title released on it.

Before the next console was released, that is. This includes handhelds, except the ill-fated Virtual Boy. As well as people are receiving Breath of the Wild, it seems they made the right call in taking time to program this title.
"Hyrule Warriors" isn't a "Legend of Zelda" Title, it combines characters across timelines, it can not possibly be canon. Not to mention, it's game play, ripped straight from "Samurai Warriors" and the like.
As for Breath of the Wild, I think it looks like the best Zelda title In a long time. I kind of want to say since "Majora's Mask", but I'll give since "Wind Waker", at least without playing it. It's place in the timelines also makes it appear to be the first legitimate sequel since "Zelda II: Link's Adventure." Taking place 100 years after Ganon returned from being locked away.
Which also makes me cringe at the possibility of this actually splitting the timeline further, by creating a "Hero was not successful" branch after Zelda II. Either way looks like fun, and I intend to play it.
I also like that they went back to cell shading, making the graphics and overall feel very reminiscent of "Wind Waker."
Edit:
This could also just fall in the timeline after "Wind Waker."

BotW IS a Wii U title.
the switch version is a late port, hence why it runs like shit.

Wait, what? The Switch version came after the Wii U version was made?

That actually kind of makes sense, what with the whole Shekiah Tablet nonsense. Also, since BotW has been in production for a long time.

Yeah, but the Switch's removable screen isn't utilized in the same way as the WiiU's gamepad. The Shiekah Slate seems to have obviously been intended to take advantage of that.

Not sure in what way. Isn't that screen just a touch screen?

No, it provides a function in many wii U games.

Yeah, but what does it provide for this game?

Link is very genderfluid in this game that it makes him a turn on for me.

Less cumbersome switching of runes, arrows, weapons, and such. That would be my guess.

According to the Zelda general on /vg/ the two versions are the same as most of the Wii U specific features were stripped to make them the same.
