I'm very selective about which consoles I buy to be honest since I do have to save whatever funds I get for other shit like transitioning and school. The Nintendo 3DS, which interesting, just didn't peak my interests. The Switch does since it's still a Nintendo home console with exclusive Nintendo games like Zelda and Splatoon. It just seemed like the 3DS is primarily dominated by Pokémon and I'm not that big of a fan of the game.

I've been wanting to play Animal Crossing for some time now. There isn't anything I'd be missing out on if the Switch iteration of the game someday is my first foray into the franchise, is there?

You can but it's a little different than most games, you can basically pick how your character looks out of a bunch of presets depending on how you control the conversation in the initial scene. Meaning you gotta look it up on a guide in the beginning if you want a particular look or else be mostly surprised. Then after that you can unlock the hair salon and get contacts for eye color and there's a shit load of clothes to choose from. Like a ton.

Alright, so here is some things to bare in mind if you want to get one. The joycons are ridiculously small. It takes a lot of adjusting to just to make sure you don't accidentally hit the trigger buttons. The shoulder buttons for each individual joycon are also separated meaning you would have to connect them whenever you want to play 2 player. This is a minor annoyance, but you may want to ensure you have a case for the system just to make sure everything is together.

I just started playing the new Zelda game and I am already getting sucked in.
