I mean, if you really believed in nothing, wouldn't you just kill yourself? Something has to drive you to get out of bed and do stuff the next day. Seems pretty unserious fraud to me.

Well, by that logic, you'd still end up killing yourself, just by doing nothing. If you're sustaining your life in any way, you obviously care about something.
