Okay, let's just blow up the moon first as a practice run. We'll need to acquire around 30 trillion megatons of TNT. That'll take some time... not to mention actually delivering the payload to the moon.
Scratch that. Maybe it'll be easier if we just drop enough bombs to make sure we have a true and honest nuclear winter. A few humans would survive, but it wouldn't take much to wipe them out afterward. A second nuclear winter could work.
