Topic: The mailman decided to give me a present this year!

+Anonymous A9.5 years ago #46,216

They delivered to me a lower receiver for a 1911. This is the part of the pew pew thing which always has a serial #.

Now I have to put it back in the mailbox with a note because it's the right thing to do (ugh).

At first I thought it was a friend in [REDACTED] that'd done something stupid, but the courier had just goofed. When I saw the contents I did a double take and checked the address and yeah, similar address and pretty close by, but not here. Although I did get some other gun parts I actually ordered today as well, but those were to a glocknade, not a 1911.

Still strange not to include signed delivery at least, even to an FFL. Maybe the CIA is setting me up again.

Ta daaa!

If a package shows up at your door it is legally yours, did you not know that?

It's the courier's responsibility to comp the customer using insurance unless it is an heirloom

Paper mostly.

Hah, no idea. It's tempting, but after it's reported missing, which anyone in their right mind who sent it would report it after a bit, it'll be the same as having a hot gun. Even if it came into my possession lawfully. Better to pass it along in the end methinks... although if I needed a throwaway to assassinate [REDACTED] with, it might not be a bad idea to finish the build... lolnah.

I'd already decided to leave it for the courier at this point. And tbf if it was my gat or w/e, I'd hope my neighbor would just put it back in the mail too. They probably wouldn't, but you know, it's nice to think they might.
