I fucking love this animu, despite it being one that gratuitously over-sexualizes it's female characters. In fact The best animu I'd seen(IMO) up to seeing izetta, Medaka Box, is also guilty of the same thing. It's common in animu, though. So I don't really care that much. Either way, I'd say it's a very good animu.
For those unfamiliar with the plot;
This animu takes place in a place similar, yet legally distinct from, western Europe (Most likely as a way to shy away from any Nazi references, making them able to air the series Germany) during the early 1940's. The country Germania is currently on the warpath, invading nearby countries, and causing general Mayhem.
Finé, Princess of the country Eylstadt, has recently come back into contact with a friend she hadn't seen in a very long time. This friend, Izetta, also happens to be a fairly powerful witch. She decides it is best to use her magic against the Germanian army, while also protecting Eylstadt from being the next country to become annexed.
Without giving away too much, this animu offers striking visuals, paired with well thought-out story, and fast paced action sequences. If you like Animu, and you haven't seen this, You should probably watch it.

The story doesn't sound very interesting - I judge by the cover AND AND I don't give second shots

Have you considered upgrading to 'Aleister & Adolf'?
