Topic: We really need an exam before somebody becomes a registered voter.

+Anonymous A9.6 years ago #45,955

An exam that covers subjects ranging from American to World History, American Politics, Economics, Social Anthropology, Sociology, Communication, and a variety of other subjects to where if the person passes the exam then they have the right to call themselves a registered voter and vote in elections. This exam should be heavily moderated to ensure there is no rigging or discrimination involved as everyone should have the same opportunities regardless of sex, gender, ethnicity, religion, etc. There should be another exam to keep your voting privileges to ensure you are of sound mind before you vote.

Many of the voters for Trump and even those for Hillary should not be voting in elections critical to how a country is governed.

This country's intelligence is severely going down the tubes.

Did we suddenly forget to Thank, Obama for the inverse of idiotic SJWs?

Obama didn't create SJWs, he just made them think they were suddenly mainstream.

Who determines what is fact and what isn't? Who determines what you need to know? The government isn't that great at telling the truth. Do we have to know their truth? If this helped, founding fathers would have put it in.

And by truth I'm not talking flat earth vs giant ball. I'm talking things like how they manipulate things like GDP unemployment the stock market to make the economy look good. How they say they want to get rid of Isis when the damned traitors FUND them. How the federal reserve isn't federal and has no reserves.

Some subjects this hypothetical exam could cover are:

American History (given)
World History
Economics
Mathematics (some)
Anthropology (Social, Biological)
Sociology
Political Science
Religious Studies
(Insert State Here) History

Of course, the ideal method of study will be attending a college, but this wouldn't be a requirement. Learning is free without college experience. The main goal would be to try and get more educated voters.

I would think individual learning would be preferential in this case, as most "liberal arts" college students come out of school thinking communism is the perfect system and fail to recognize the inherent flaws in trying to implement it.

Why is communism wrong though? It's what the government of Earth was in Star Trek.

The problem is the proper implementation requires an overseer to ensure that all parties are participating and working for the good of the whole, but this person must also be willing to step down and dissolve all governance once the system is working as it should. However, humans cannot be trusted to think unselfishly when given even the slightest position of power.

So would a better system be a capitalist one that implements some elements of communism than just pure communism itself?

·FuckAlms !vX8K53rFBI9.6 years ago, 8 minutes later, 9 hours after the original post[T] [B] #500,319

@previous (A)
Possibly. Capitalism drives innovation quite well, but it also tends to do so at the potential expense of safety to consumers or neglect of employees.

It sometimes feels like capitalism will be entering a metamorphosis soon as society becomes more "compassionate".
