Topic: I cannot even handle 3 classes.
+Catherine !TGirlYJKXM — 9.7 years ago #45,936
So why am I going to school again?
1 of them is online, unfortunately.
2 of them are stretched out over 4 days of a week.
Given they are all 4 unit classes, but still, if I cannot handle this shit. Why am I even going to school?!

Cathy
Exactly how much net play time is getting in the way with classroom work? Betting your priority is play and not work for future life pay and all that goes with it

why the fuck you asking us? just take what you can handle instead of coming here and whining
you'd be done already if you paced yourself from the start
·Anonymous F — 9.7 years ago, 38 seconds later, 2 hours after the original post[T] [B] #500,157
also 12 credits is nearly full time. don't be so hard on yourself

For some things, but they usually imply double the work and some courses like English and Math really shouldn't be online.
@previous (F)
I think 12 credits is full time at my school.
@500,151 (Syntax)
I think I might need a full semester off to be honest. The only break I took was during the short summer semester. I guess it paid off to the point where I almost close to graduation.

Everything you are learning at uni can be self-taught. My brother, who is about to graduate with a master's in computer science, told me so himself. Only real difference a degree makes, is the companies you can apply to.

I might as well just stick with it now since I'm close to graduating though.

Sort of true. You'd be banging your head against a wall if you just pick up a fucking CS textbook and try to read it tho, that's muthafuckin walls o' text

True, having someone to help guide you is always convenient.

In General - ALMOST ALWAYS - Those are the companies that PAY PAY PAY - and the others just pay NOT SO MUCH.
Also I am a huge fan of self taught - You do learn by question answer and interactions with other classmates. Study sessions are extremely valuable.
Recently a Rag Head from Pakistan showed me a math trick that saved me 45 minutes solving that next Calculus problem. How to trick Math Lab to handle terms its not programmed to handle. Looked at the web and that trick is not on the web currently. It wood also take a lot of time to upload all that it takes to perform the trick.
Comes down to a mix of self taught and formal classes. Or one can have a wallet less full and when looking for a job or in my case a new client or another dept in the same company with help needed which is usually the case the more I No the more $$$ I make.
I could rite much more on this and will sometime later - Have much work much much much to much work to do and well back to doing such

kind of. in arts/humanities disciplines the goal is less to memorize knowledge (although that is certainly part of it) but to be able to parse information and critically analyze things. that's much easier to learn with guidance and feedback. chem/math/physics i basically did teach myself.
@OP
tbh it's no big deal. take as long as you need. it's better to take fewer courses and not feel overwhelmed - you end up doing better in those classes.
edit: oops didn't notice necrobump

Doesn't matter for you. You dropped out because you're a failure. Just like you got kicked out of the navy, cause you're a failure.

only reason companies want ppl with degrees is because reputable degrees mean you at least studied the stuff and did tests.
+Anonymous O — 9.3 years ago, 4 hours later, 4 months after the original post[T] [B] #516,401
Its the same reason many others go to school even though they don't care. Its a bubble that lets you avoid the real world.
