Topic: The Chicago Cubs 'Won' the N.L. Pennant

+Anonymous A9.7 years ago #45,790

For the first time in 71 years, the Chicago Cubs won the Pennant and will being going to the World Series. The entire North Side of Chicago was filled with noise from fireworks and probably some shotgun blasts

The Cubs Won exactly as I predicted they would at the beginning of this Baseball season, and the fact of the matter is I stopped following or caring about the Cubs or baseball for that matter several decades ago.
Yes I was once a Cub Fan. I lived and died with the team. I could recite the batting averages of every player and the ERA of every pitcher. But that was before I came to realize what a total waste of time and emotional commitment was involved.

The reason I correctly predicted the Cubs winning is that I simply noticed the activity and investment around the Cubs home Ballpark, Wrigley Field . Wrigley Field has been expanded and updated with VIP sky boxes, upper decks and amenities that were never considered before. Construction in the area around the park includes high-end hotels ,tiered parking and restaurants (something Chicago had no shortage of) as well as satellite parking, shuttle busses and upgrades of every kind imaginable.
SO, in effect, I'm not a Baseball prophet in any way at all. I just have a talent for seeing the OBVIOUS.
In Short, Baseball, like every other professional team sport is FIXED! And Bringing about the desired results is easier than most people would imagine.

All that is required to determine the outcome of a Baseball game is to get the officials (Umpires) to tighten the strike zone for one team and expand it for the other. With a season of 162 games, and talent being so balanced, any team can by chance beat any other team on any given day, so There is no need to bribe the players, which would be difficult with players who want bigger contracts based on their performance and who already make several million per year on average. Much easier to fix it through officiating and far less expensive.

But Why Fix It? For the obvious reasons of Market Share and interest in the targeted market. And YES folks , it's the Network Media bringing it all about.

As for the World Series? I honestly can't predict who will win. But I know that advertising Minutes carry a cost on the par with the Superbowl. And isn't it Odd that in a best of seven game world series so often goes to seven Games?

that's Right all you Sports fans..........

I was always suspicious how they can come out with winning merchandise the very next morning. Ex "Cubs 2016 WS Champs!"
