My desktop has been going strong for four Doesn't have to be the latest or bestest GPU, but I want something decent, budget for this is $300. Ideally something that is Mint and Kali Linux friendly.
If I do start playing vidya gaems again, it'll probably be light gaming, so I'm not super worried about that factor, although it would be cool to have the option for vidja gaemin'.
Or should I just say fuck it and buy a new PC and turn this is into a media server or back up?

It's like a CPU, but instead of one (or 6, or 8, whatever, fuck you) core(s) doing complex calculations, there's lots of cores performing simple calculations. Or something like that.
Basically, my grandpa's secondary computer is pretty crappy performance-wise, but it plays Audiosurf smoothly because it has a GPU.

I have some serious hard as fuck body wise work to get done and need to start my drive north just out of my 15 mile zone for that and then the Gym
GPU is really a CPU designed MOSTLY for Complex calculations for Graphics interface - That said a GPU can and does replace CPU in many a case based on the 100's of millions in Cars - Dashboard- Instrumentation and at least one from a company I am totally close to supplies them so they do not need a CPU to interface
Some of the best of Supercomputers use Mass numbers of GPU instead of CPU - Its all about solving the Math as a primary focus rather than the mundane stuff for HTML etc that a CPU has to prioritize
Heard this on the news yesterday PBS interview of CEO of Ford F-150 series of trucks - 150 million lines of code in latest series and hummmmm Ford F- 150 Bet he rounded that 150 number off
Geeeeeshhhhhh Old F-150 with no CPU no GPU - CEO said F-150 is the most popular vehicular product Ford makes
