I'm not super worried about $2k and I doubt they'll go on the lam, so I should get part of it back if nothing else.
More pissed off about the individual running their cockholster to the arresting officer and leaving shit in plain view. The whole incident was avoidable. To make matters worse I'd been letting them crash here to get clean and they were doing well, or so I thought, but I tossed the guest bedroom last night and threw out a fuckton of shit.
They had just started a job a couple hours away and were in the process of moving out. They would've been clearing a sizeable sum + per diem everyday for their work, but no, they had to fuck their career up, because they're a fucking moron. Anyway, enough about how idiotic this individual is. They were probably high when they were arrested to run their mouth like that, but there's some limited actions we can take to mitigate the severity of the charges.
P.S. No, I did not bail out Bert. Nor would I. Bert died of cirrhosis. RIP.

Come to find out he actually consented to the search knowing he had dope, a scale, and rigs, in the vehicle. If he wasn't high when he was arrested then he is more fucking stupid than I thought.
He's supposed to be at this address because of the bond, but instead he's out trying to convince his superiors that it was just a big misunderstanding, etc, to work through the month so he can get funds for a defense attorney, because spoiler alert, he blew all his money on dope. If I lose all of the bond money, I'll get over it, but it'll just make me more pissed.
Anyway, so here's what I think happened, because he should've been at work when he was pulled over.
1. He pulled over to get high, probably.
2. Cops saw something beyond his tattoos possibly, they claim he had fresh track marks too.
3. Cops make him roll over and wet himself and he consents to a search because they'll "go easier on him".
4. They find enough charges to put him away for over 20 years.
5. Now he's being an emo fuck and bawwing about it instead of trying to do actual damage control that I researched and planned for him.
6. He's a fucking moron despite his education and complete lack of understanding of some of the philosophers he likes to quote.
7. I am going to beat the shit out of him when he gets here.

Yeah, I know from firsthand experience, hell I was banging dope back in mid-late 2012, but I got over that shit. Got my head straight and went back to the real world. Still I know that addicts will lie... and continue to lie about every fucking thing. He needs to be in NA/AA or SMART. He needs to show he's trying to sort his shit out before he even goes to court. I'm trying to get him volunteer time at a few places here to keep him busy and make him look like less of a piece of shit, but he can't be bothered at the moment. /raeg
