Topic: If I'm relatively certain the company interviewing me will be drug testing me via saliva...
+Beebs !gINgerDI62 — 9.8 years ago #45,584
What are my chances of passing said saliva drug test if I smoked
insert gateway drug here Tuesday?
Oh, also, the interview is this Saturday. So I still have a day to get clean if I'm not already.

Oral swabs are pretty crummy to actually detect drug use tbh.

Looked it up on the web but best you double triple check with Google
Looks good however

Perhaps a professional test kit can detect lower levels?

Yeah that graph is comforting. But I do know many factors go into it. I'm lightweight and don't partake often at all, so hopefully I'm good and I'm overworrying, but better safe than sorry.

I AM super busy with work and have been all week - What I wood do is look up the ways you can push shit out of your body. With alcohol there are several ways to burn it up quickly if need be.

Update: I'll be getting a call Tuesday if I get the job. Then I will be tested for Mary Jane, so I've got more days than I thought. Nice surprise. Kind of doubt I'll be chosen now, though. There are 4 other people being considered, and I'm hardly qualified. Oh well.

Don't sweat it just yet, if it doesn't pan out, there's always something else out there. On the bright side there shouldn't be any trace of the marijuanas in your saliva if you get tested. Why not apply for a couple other jobs while you're clean anyway though? It's always nice to have options.

Yeah I've been shotgunning applications everywhere recently. I actually already have another opportunity coming up soon with the same company but different location. They told me they'd be opening up a few positions and will call me after the 26th,so if this one doesn't work out, I've still got that as well.
And really, I'm not in desperate need of a job anyway. I've got one with job security and decent pay right now. The only reason I'm even worrying about changing up is because it's too physically demanding at times. (I work in construction, currently.)

What's funny is when I worked there before, I was told all of my managers (the seemingly corporate shrill type) partake regularly. Made me feel a bit better about their drug policies. Since they only test for pre-employment or if someone damages a shit-ton of merchandise.

Wait what? A job that pays cold hard cash and keeps you physically fit?
Better re-think leaving a job that pays and keeps you healthy

See, the downside of that is you have to deal with taxes on your own time. I'd rather be making the exact same amount of money, not deal with taxes (because the company would take them out for me), and have the labor not be nearly as intense. Work smarter, not harder. Unless harder is easier for you, of course.

I can only give you totally true honest answer here using me as example.
So to make lots of money as teen cause I had super expensive hobbies like building bombs n rockets and cost of chemicals and beakers and special quartz containers - AND Ham Radio - Initially not expensive cause old WWII and Korean war surplus was not expensive and some could be modified and even used directly as is (just not on frequencies I cared to use) Then wanting more more it became EXPENSIVE
So b4 of legal age to work I by accident discovered a way to make $50-75/day tax free and that was in late 1950's so that in 2day terms was 100's a day - When power mowing my own yard and needed to wack some weeds at end up property at home I just tilted up the power mower at 45 degrees and work was done to perfection in a few seconds
That put my brain in gear. For $39 at Pep Boys I bought a brand new mower with money from a newspaper route - (paper route super hard work to be discussed at some other time)
Then search of hood for back yards at rented houses where people just let it go till stuff was almost waist high. I made brackets for the mower by hand real quick that held the mower at 45 degrees. Found 4 people per day on weekends and made a lot of money quickly - Hard work cause weeks flew all over me - made it hard to breath and was messy work but sure paid off - Found to much work to quickly so I bought a couple3 then 5 mowers and hired friends to split the cash
The problem with that money making job was it left no time for hobby and girls started to look more better than trolling hood to find renters who needed ME and friends
Got a job in TV Shop which should have been ideal - MY ham skills fixing broke radios and TV's - Looked fun and money was ok but those places back then were crooks and that soured me real quick-
Got a job at what is now Ralph's Supermarket - Bag boy lasted a few days of first week and they sent me to a local Jr College for a quick course in Clerk for super market check out and stock shelves - Now stocking shelves and a Course? Yep cause its really all about making displays on ends etc to push products so they taught the special stacking techniques - Odd patterns of cans to make a pyramid etc - They did that a lot more back then then now - I notice Trader Joes does on occasion but you only see old guys who learned those skills going from one market to the other to set up those special displays
That work you wood say is EASY? NOT WHEN THE NEW KID is tasked with doing Super Cold Freezer stocking and unstocking - Loading cold cases in the market from the Deeeep freeze - One has to wear a heavy coat and gloves - BUT it did pay high union wages with bonus for part time work - and Triple time for holidays
There is one thing I am not saying but will say that when at register it turned out I met some local same school girls who recognized me yet we never talked at school and all of a sudden they were talking to me at school and then we were doing a lot more than talking
Even had one hang with me cause she got knocked up by her BF who ran the moment she gave birth and that girl was a KNOCK OUT - And me thinks she figured with my job I could be the dad replacement and damn I sure gave that a lot of mind bending thought
Now wayyyyyy tl;dr
So market job had to end at 9PM cause they closed early and with school there were not so many hours to work so I got a clerk job at liquor store got robbed 9 times in about 14 months - Dared not tell my mom about any beyond the 1st and worked hard being the new kid who wood stock the cold case with beer and had to do all the shelve stocking - Hard work
Best thing besides the money was (leaving one thing out) taking out the trash at end of nite cause it represented in one bulk few minutes all the actually work I had done that nite
After that NO hard work as physical cause as Electronics Engineer its all brain work UNTIL UNTIL UNTIL last few months were to do the work I crawl in and under racks of electronics and work on my back for hours so as to one day have 4GLTE be 400G LTE or such
I keep banging on one marketing depts head with hammer saying NO WAY U going to call this Faster than the Speed of Light which is plan around 2019 and I am not kidding
Alas on paper the smart EE trained Marketing guy can prove its possible to go faster than the speed of light when downloading content ONE DAY

My dad worked construction until he retired. Falling off the roof a couple2 times ended up saving his life long term. Healthy people do not go in for lookC at internals- His falling off roof led to discovery of horrid LDL/HDL ration and that led to Heart issues - that led to ME doing all I can do to avoid what his Genes led him2
From what Docs who study this kinda of thing say - We evolved over eons of hard work to all of a sudden just couch potato or sit in chair computer or gaming non work and our bodies cannot go from hard work to no real work all of a sudden - Enters Diabetics Heart and Obesity rapidly

It didn't. The interview consisted of them telling me they would call me in a few days if I get considered for a second interview/drug screening. They never called back. Oh well. I've still got a job, just not a very good one. I'll keep trying regardless.
