If so, please tell me about it

What's there to tell? A few low light p!ants, a few dozen neon tetras, some ghost shrimp, and tons of free snails that came with the plants. Looks natural like a river environment, easy to maintain 55gl. My stupid parrot fell in once, cause it's his duty to thoroughly inspect each and every single object that I bring into the house.

I never buy the live plants. You're gonna go through hell getting rid of those snails. They'll clog up the filter and shit.
And when you think they are gone, their not. The slime they leave, just won't die. As soon as you get an item wet again with the slime, more snails are born.

@previous (D)
Why don't they just grow the live plants you can buy in a snail-free environment?

What kind of low light plants and do you fertilize them?

We had a plastic tadpole tank for a little while. I don't really remember much about it besides it being kept on the shelf around the jacuzzi in my parents' bathroom.

I don't think they grow them anywhere, its probably just shit that grows in a pond, and they pick it sell it like that.
@497,431 (kook !!NBBLPn+WZ)
What the fuck is your problem?

I don't have the snail issues anymore. I got rid of all the shit and tank included, and went and bought another one. I just don't use live plants anymore.

Had many a tank but it was my wife who mostly maintained them. The very best of all were the Bettas.
Tricky with separating males from Females except to mate. The matting ritual and then how the males take over and have no life other than taking care of each single egg one at a time until they hatch and then you have to get the male OUT of there quickly or he will eat the progeny

Yep, it gets bad. I had a volcano in mine, which lit up and bubbles came out.
The snails had left slime on it. I washed it, left it in the 90 some degree temp right in the sunlight for several days, and that didn't even kill it.

I don't fertilize. The easiest plants, for me at least, are java ferns and java moss. I really like Java moss in particularly because it grows out like a weed and you can trim and shape it. Attach it with sewing string to rock or driftwood and it gives the aquarium a really natural look. Really low maintenance, I don't even use any lighting since my aquarium is right by a window and it gets sunlight.
Mine looks a little like this one.

Yeah, they reproduce like crazy, but the shrimp seem to have them under control now. They really haven't caused any problems and I like how they look.

My best good friend was keeping tropical fish, last I checked. I can ask him any questions you may have.

Yes, just a few dozen neon & cardinal tetras. They're small, low maintenance, school when swimming and look really cool.

You should also consider red cherry shrimp, really beautiful, peaceful, easy to maintain, and help keep the tank clean.

@previous (Syntax)
Yeah pretty much what google, err I mean syntax said. Some people keep only shrimp and then you'd have to buy some shrimp pellets or other shrimp specific food. Also certaing veggies like zuchinni and collard greens. Mostly they just eat whatever the fish don't, including dead fish
