PK, sometimes in life, all of us have obstacles to try to overcome. My penis no longer functions and the cancer has spread to my colon. We all have our own defense mechanisms, and ways of dealing with it. Some of us have great life support circles, and some don't. Some of us tend to internalize our anger and act it out passive-aggressively. Why do we do it? I really do not know.
Therapy can help us understand, but ultimately, all of us have things we do in our lives that we know are wrong, and that we are not proud of. If there is one thing AA has taught me, it is that, though it might not always work, we have to try to rectify our wrongs, and to try to make amends.
