I was camping with friends this weekend on a visit to my home area. I wake up on the day my lady friend and I are going to start packing up. Its like noon cause someone brought a gallon of fireball so I am hungover and not too happy. The friend i have been travelling with is cooking a hotdog with bacon wrapped around it over a fire. Not 5 minutes after my lady friend and I start packing up, two forest service personnel walk up on us. Oh we are in a fire ban, oh wr are in a high fire risk season. So a ticket for the fire is going to happen. My friend cooking on said fire INSTANTLY becomes a deaf mute who doesn't know american sign language and walks away. I tell them i have no ID but i can give them my information. They start asking about our vehicles. They are going to take my lady friend's car info. My deaf mute friend is three feet away as i explain how fucked up it is to let someone not involved get a ticket and i basically force my information on the rangers.
So as they're writing me the ticket they have us put out the fire, and the whole time I am talking about the fires i was RAGING for the last 3 nights and that it was utter stupidity for a fire during the day to be started, since we have propane cooking equipment.
He literally cooked ONE hotdog. Started a fire for ONE FUCKING HOTDOG.
Our other friend who was camping with us thanked me because they couldn't afford the ticket. I reminded everyone that I was unemployed as well, but I wasn't going to watch a FRIEND get a ticket for someone elses fuck up.
So hooray me, i get to postpone the rest of my backpacking/hitchhiking trip and find a way to pay a $235 ticket without compromising my morals and getting a job thats terrible for people, ie food service.
Oh and its just in time for me to spend my birthday questioning who the fuck my friends really are.

Yeah, but like, you wouldn't really expect to find a deaf person camping in a park would you? Bears and wildcats in parks don't wear flashers to alert people of their whereabouts. It would be pretty dangerous wouldn't it?

That's actually a pretty good idea. Wild forest creatures can help clean out the human gene pool by taking out the weakest among us. Now can you come up with a way to get the blm folk to start enjoying our national parks more often?
